Overview of what they do

Before a construction project begins, Quantity Surveyor is responsible for calculating the overall costs of materials and labour for project tendering purposes; they would prepare documents such as bills of quantities, contracts with conditions. When the construction project is on-going, they have to manage the materials to prevent wastage/damage. They have to advise on payment for contractors whenever their part of the work is completed.

It is a 3.5 years degree program. Total duration of different pathways as below.

  • STPM + Degree (Public University) = 5.5 years
  • Foundation + Degree = 4.5 years
  • Diploma + Degree = 5 years
  • A-Levels + Degree = 5 years
